Daio Paper Reports Net Profit of 4.3 Billion Yen for April-September 2025

Japanese household paper manufacturer Daio Paper recently announced that its consolidated net profit for the period from April to September 2025 was 4.3 billion yen (compared to a loss of 3.4 billion yen in the same period last year). Analysts attribute the profit increase to lower-than-expected losses from the sale of its Turkish business and the recognition of a 2.7 billion yen business restructuring provision as a special gain.

Sales for the period were 319.3 billion yen, a 4% decrease year-on-year; operating profit was 8.5 billion yen, a 1.3-fold increase year-on-year. The sales decline was due to reduced overseas sales of products such as baby diapers resulting from business restructuring. The profit increase was attributed to increased sales of high-value-added household paper products in the Japanese domestic market and price adjustments.

Based on this, Daio Paper maintained its full-year profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2026. It expects sales of 670 billion yen, a slight increase from the previous fiscal year; and net profit of 5 billion yen (compared to a loss of 11.1 billion yen in the previous fiscal year).
